コントラバス
コントラバスは、最低音域を担当する巨大な弦楽器です。
現在はバイオリン属に分類されていますが、歴史的にはヴィオール属の楽器であり、楽器の形状や演奏法にその名残りがあります。 通常は立って演奏しますが、オーケストラなどでは椅子に座って演奏することもあります。左手で指板上の弦を押さえて音程を定め、右手の弓で弦を擦って発声しますが、右手の指で弦を弾くピチカート奏法などもあります。弓には下手(したて)持ちのジャーマン・ボウと、上手(うわて)持ちのフレンチ・ボウがあり、それぞれに長所・短所があります。 参加する音楽ジャンルにより、コントラバス(コンバス)、ウッドベース、ストリングベース(弦バス)、ダブルベース、アップライトベース、アコースティックベース、箱ベ、ベースフィドルなどの呼び方がありますが、これらはすべて同じ楽器を指します。
